Just how much fun is the Pedal Power Wildflower Ride? Here's what participants say:

About the unusually cold 2007 ride

  • Great ride, Great support, beautiful area, Great riders, Wonderful cause. Išve done the ride a couple times and my only disappointment this year was that there was no “mass start” or if there was it must have been early, because I was there well within time and there was no one there; just riders taking off in some confusion about when to start. It just made me miss the camaraderie. Išll be there next year to go ever further...wind or rain or sleet or shine...well, perhaps not rain or sleet, but the other two conditions for sure! -- Lari Aycock
  • I thought this year's event was a winner. Very well-organized and the volunteers friendly and helpful. Would certainly try to come back again for the fourth time! Keep up the good work. -- Wei San
  • This was the 2nd year my wife and I participated, and enjoyed the ride and support in spite of the weather. Moving the registration was definitely a plus. Having to pick up packets the morning of the ride and return to where we were parked the previous year was indeed a headache. The park is the perfect setting for registration as it has ample parking and we can stow out packet info, T-shirts etc in a timely fashion before beginning the ride. This in itself will almost certainly keep us coming back each year. -- Laban and Brenda Stewart
  • Awesome Event even though the weather was atrocious....see ya next year! Jim
  • This was my first year to ride and doing the 60 was the longest ride I had tried at that time, I've since done the Shiner GASP and I have to say that y'alls was by FAR the superior ride. what great stops you had! fully stocked with yummy foods I could eat (I can't do power bars)...anyways I will definitely be joining y'all next year, I have nothing but great feedback and I tell all my friends (including a handful of strangers on the Shiner ride) that y'alls ride is definitely worth the precarious weather conditions!! thanks, -- -a-
  • This was the first year that my husband and I rode in the Pedal Power Ride -- we did love the route, in spite of the horrible weather. I remember thinking what a lovely ride it would have been if I hadn't been freezing my butt off! The food was incredible -- nothing like home cooked meal after a ride like that. Best post-ride food I've ever had! The only down side was that the eating area was a bit cramped. We could have used a bigger dining room. And the volunteers were wonderful. Thanks to all of them for their help and support. I can't comment on the moving of the registration area, but we had no problem finding it. I think putting it at the main HQ was a good idea, because that place was easy to find (at least for us). Glad you ordered better weather for next year! We hope to be there! -- Debra Crosby

About the 2006 and earlier editions of the ride

  • The ride was great!!! The rest stops were very well furbished with great goodies, thanks for all, especially the rest stop that had these really good sausage wraps, they were delicious. The coordination was excellent, I'm already telling friends about this ride, which we will definitely do all over again next year, Great job and thanks -- Rocio
  • I have participated in your ride for about 3 or 4 years and each year it just keeps gets better and I enjoy it more. Your rest stops are awesome and the routes are great! I usually do the 60+ ride....what a hill at Willow City Loop!!! I have recruited riders each year and they all keep coming back each year. -- Hilda Correa
  • Your ride rocked. It was so much better than many of the crowded, more publicized rides in the Austin area! And where else can you drink a mimosa at a rest stop? Awesome. My husband and I are already talking about bringing some friends with us next year.-- Pam
  • This was the best ride I have ever been on and I am not just saying that. The signs on the route were great and easy to read. Very few cars on the road and I like that. I did the 36 route, which was very scenic. Even saw a newborn sheep. Raymond rode the 50 route and also enjoyed it. I kept the map and plan to ride this route several more times this summer. The food was pretty good. Thanks again and my calendar is marked for next year. -- Donna Lou Holland
P.S. Also enjoyed the band, nice surprise
  • Thanks for a GREAT ride! My friends and I really enjoyed the 60 mile route. The volunteers were terrific!! Please pass on the compliment to them, as good volunteers make all the difference in the success of an event. Good luck and good riding! -- Kelly Carper Erickson
  • This was my second year to do your ride. It is one of the best I've ever done-well managed, and the food is great! I believe in your work and pray for your work and workers. Blessings --
